Milliken are sponsoring the prestigious Businessman of the Year Award for the next two years at the Made in Bury Business Awards.

Milliken European Airbag Products based in Bury, is part of Milliken & Co, a US based business with 150 years’ experience. The Milliken & Co business is a world leader in innovation in a vast range of industries and product areas, with 5,000 patents worldwide.

Milliken European Airbag Products produce a 11 million metres of specialist cloth per year, that is utilised all over the world in large car brands.

They are industry leaders, with constantly exceptional levels of productivity and quality, which has resulted in global attention from Milliken’s other factories, who utilise the knowledge from the Bury based manufacturer to increase the productivity of their own operations. The factory consists of 120 machines, which has grown from 8 machines since 1995.

Milliken dominated at last year’s Made in Bury Business Awards, winning three awards, The Woodcocks & Nuttall Manufacturing & Engineering Award, the Excellence in Developing People Award and the Large Business Award. Milliken’s Vice President, Graham Swann capped off the night for the Bury based business by winning the first ever Businessman of the Year Award.
