“The MIB awards are a superb celebration of local entrepreneurship and every year go from strength to strength. The success of our local businesses is absolutely vital in keeping Bury as a great place in which to live and work, and the council is proud to sponsor these awards. I’m looking forward to meeting the shortlisted nominees and helping to judge the overall winners, but I also want to thank all those companies, large and small, who make such an important contribution to the wellbeing of our borough.”

It was a fantastic night, everyone was happy and the place was buzzing with excitement. The community in Bury have grown closer together and even if companies did not win, or did not enter they were still there to support other local businesses. The night itself was well planned, the room looked amazing and everyone was looked after. I cannot wait until next year, although I don’t think we can top this having won three awards!! Xx

We entered The Made in Bury Business Awards for the third time this year. In the first instance just writing the application / entry form is a massive eye-opener, and makes you look at your business; how it’s progressed over the last 12 months, and what you have planned for the future. We found this really valuable as a business.    The whole awards from start to finish is run professionally. The right amount of build-up and excitement to the actual final 6 shortlist, the interviews and then the final 3 announcement.    We attended the 2014 and 2015 Awards Ball (not quite making the top 3) and they were a fantastic night. Celebrating Bury businesses at their finest.

If you’re proud of your business, proud of Bury then you really should be getting involved.

People Matters HR turned  5 years old this summer and we really wanted  to celebrate our success. One of the key things we decided to do was enter the 2016 Made in Bury Business Awards.
 
I found the process to be very well organised, I was given support from the MIBBA team in completing my form, which I found very thought provoking and enjoyable, bringing together our thoughts on what made People Matters HR potentially the best family business in Bury was exciting.
 
We were delighted to be shortlisted and attend our interview, held at the Longfield centre in Prestwich. The occasion was nerve wracking but the whole team from the Made in Bury Business Awards Team, Best of Bury and Bury College made us very welcome, relaxed the nerves and the whole thing ran like clockwork.
 
The nerves fell away as soon as we met the panel of 3 judges, after all we were talking about our growing to other business people. They were very friendly and genuinely interested in my five minute presentation and asked some very insightful questions.
 
The whole experience was very worthwhile and I would recommend other businesses, give it a go, after all nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Looking forward to the whole process all over again !!

The whole process was dealt with efficiently. The night it's self was absolutely brilliant, my firm had a lot of fun and really enjoyed ourselves! Will be there again next year!

We really enjoyed sponsoring the Made In Bury Business Awards as it brought great awareness to our brand. Involvement as a judge was exciting as we had the opportunity to learn about and meet other businesses. We also enjoyed the ceremony as this gave our team chance to meet other businesses. It was great to be involved in and to support our local town. We are looking forward to being involved again this year.
