Well, it was like a covert operation to surprise the winner of the Made in Bury Weekly £2000 Draw for the first draw of February, and it was so fun! The winner’s Gillian Dutton with ticket number 21829, who works at The Bury Black Pudding Company in Bury. Congratulations Gill.

Leanne phoned Matthew McDermid from Brand and Marketing at Bury Black Pudding who informed us that Gill was in and that he would be delighted to help us in surprising her. When we got to their Factory and Head Office which is based locally in Bury, he’d involved all the colleagues and Debbie Pierce, the Managing Director, in facilitating the wonderful surprise. We were able to sneak in and walk right behind Gillian without being seen before she was told to turn around.

Gill was completely blown away that she was the winner, and it took a moment for the information that she’d won to sink in. Gill joined the Draw in May 2020 and is the third winner that the company have had. Gill has worked for the company for 7 years and in Dispatch, a crucial department in their organisation. When asked what she would spend the winnings on she told us that she’s off next week so a shopping trip to The Trafford Centre will definitely be happening. Afterwards Gill said that she’s completely forgot that she’s been saving up for a new car so some of the money will contribute towards that as well.

The day is extra special for those at The Bury Black Pudding Company as this marks the 20th anniversary as a registered business, dating 02.02.2002. Congratulations on such a wonderful achievement.
