This week we went off to the Brighter Blinds showroom to surprise Rob...unfortunately, when we arrived, he wasn't there! Thanks to the help of Rob's mum, Olive we were still able to surprise him with the cheque; we snuck into the warehouse just next to the showroom and we waited for him to return. Luckily, he was only a couple of minutes away and we were able to jump out and surprise him!
Brighter Blinds Ltd is a Bury-based, family owned and operated business with over 50 years' experience within the window blinds industry. The team design and manufacture many of their blinds on site and guarantee products of the highest quality as well as being made from environmentally friendly materials.
Rob, the Managing Director of Brighter Blinds was made up with his £2,000 and he said he didn't suspect a thing! When asked what he would spend his money on, he said he would spend some on his holiday to Menorca and maybe some gin! He also said he would make a donation to the East Lancashire Masonic Charity, as he is the District Mentor of the Bury district.
Rob has been involved in the draw since it first started, and it was finally his lucky week! Rob mentioned how delighted he was to be supporting such a great cause that helps new start-up businesses and how he wishes the Made in Bury Business Academy had been around when he first started at Brighter Blinds.
The Made in Bury Weekly £2,000 Draw is a not-for-profit initiative licensed by Bury Council that funds the mentoring and support of new businesses in the local area. One of the ways this is done is through the Made in Bury Business Academy, a funded 12 month training program for start-up businesses in Bury.
