This week’s winner of the Made in Bury Weekly £2,000 Draw is Pauline Hardman from The Bury Black Pudding Company with ticket number 21857. During lockdown, we haven’t been able to go and surprise our winners as we normally would. However, today, for the first time in a long time, we were very excited to have been able to deliver the cheque in person.

We called Debbie Pierce, Founder of The Bury Black Pudding Company, to let her know that Pauline was this week’s lucky winner. Debbie kindly let us go down to their offices so we headed over with our protective masks whilst practicing social distancing. As we waited in the corridor for Pauline, lots of other staff members began to assemble waiting for Pauline to appear. Pauline was so surprised to have won and it was lovely having her co-workers applause her.

Pauline has worked at The Bury Black Pudding Company for 12 and a half years and she is the line leader in the boxing room. She has only been in the draw for 3 months so was absolutely delighted to have won £2,000. Pauline is due to go away on holiday to Tenerife in November so the money will go towards her spends. Having worked throughout the whole of lockdown, Pauline’s holiday will be very well deserved and we hope she has an amazing time.

The Bury Black Pudding Company are one of the longest established stalls on Bury’s world-famous market and they are recognised as the UK’s leading retailer of Black Pudding. In 2019, The Bury Black Pudding Company were the winners of The Bury Council Outstanding Achievement Award at the Made in Bury Business Awards. Debbie Pierce also won Businesswoman of the Year. The Made in Bury Weekly £2,000 Draw is a not for profit initiative and costs just £2 a week to enter. The funds raised from the draw go towards supporting start-up businesses in Bury. There are only 2,400 tickets available and for just £2 per ticket per week, you have a chance to WIN £2,000 every Wednesday.
