This week’s lucky winner of the Made in Bury £2000 weekly draw was Christine Ashworth from Slattery Pâtissier and Chocolatiers in Whitefield.

To plan the surprise, we called for the help of owner John who informed us Christine was busy working in the Mason’s dining room. We snuck up the back stairway and made our way through the kitchens where all of the staff were busy making delicious chocolate treats and lunch for their customers. When John called Christine over, she initially thought she was in trouble. We soon put a smile on Christine's face when we presented her with the £2000 cheque.

Christine has worked at Slattery for 15 months as a barista in the Mason’s dining room. Christine’s husband Graeme is the head baker at Slattery’s and has worked there for 20 years.

Their daughter is getting married next summer so part of the money will be spent on a new outfit and the rest will go towards a cruise holiday.

The Award-winning, third-generation family-run business was founded in 1967 and they specialise in bespoke celebration and wedding cakes as well as lots of other tasty sweet treats. Slattery are a huge supporter of the draw and their luck continues as Christine is our fourth winner from there!
