Since the beginning of the annual Made in Bury Business Awards back in 2013 Milliken have sponsored a number of Awards and were themselves Winners of Businessman of The Year in 2017 and they continue to give invaluable support.
Milliken Industrials Ltd is a global company producing textiles, knitted garments and many other products world-wide. At their premises at Wellington Street in a former cotton mill Milliken European Airbag Products produces over 25 million square metres of fabric per annum with 99.8% of its product being exported to 24 customers in 21 countries. Milliken is a major contributor to our commercial scene. The company employs over 130 local people and is an industrial gem at the heart of Bury!
Made in Bury Business Awards, MIBBA’s, recognises outstanding contributions made by local firms of all sizes and types from single operator businesses to large corporations where flair, business acumen, innovative thinking and service to the community are celebrated annually. 2021 is the 9th year of MIBBA’s. Some would say that the past 12 months have been the worst in modern commercial history and with a degree of justification, however, there are examples of outstanding achievement from basic survival to towering success and it is this that we will celebrate at this year’s Awards – hopefully with a proper gathering of all concerned! There is an old saying, ‘When the going gets tough, the tough get going!’ 2021 MIBBA’s will be a celebration of grit and determination.
MIBBA’s 2021 will be celebrated on 25th November and nominations may be submitted from May 4th to July 4th.
The MIBBA’s recognise the Best Businesses in Bury across all sectors, however without sponsors and nominations nothing would happen. It is thanks to Milliken and other entrepreneurial organisations and individuals that the buying public and business-to-business leaders are made aware of excellence and opportunity.
Hopefully the MIBBA’s can be celebrated in style with a coming together of the business community and voluntary sector to enjoy dining together in recognition of outstanding contributions made in this toughest of years. Regardless, we will celebrate, and we will reward The Best. The 2021 MIBBA’s promise to be very special!
