Thursday night saw the very best local companies join together for what is the highlight of Bury's business calendar.

Businesses from all walks of life, from the financial sector to the food and drink industry arrived at the 5th annual Made In Bury Awards which were held at The Longfield Suite, Prestwich.

There were 21 categories, including Businessman of The Year and Businesswoman of The Year, two new awards for 2017.

Businesses and their teams arrived to enjoy a fantastic night celebrating some of our towns very best.

An initial presentation by managing partners of Made In Bury, Debi and Phil Fellone was followed by a 3 course dinner and fantastic entertainment throughout.  Vocalist Katie Bunting sang initially, followed by artistes from Active Dance and headed up by International Opera Superstar, Sean Ruane.

Dinner over and a brief speech by leader of the Council, Councillor Rishi Shori meant the awards were about to begin and anxiety and excitement filled the room. There was a fantastic atmosphere with everyone in good spirit, as award after award the applause kept coming, as each winner, highly commended and commended were announced.

The awards culminated in The Outstanding Achievement Award, a special recognition award chosen by the Council themselves, this year going to Pennine.

Awards over, it was time to party, and as the balloons dropped from above, DJ Jon Holling from Tower FM started the proceedings.  The night was still young and everyone danced until the early hours.

This really was a night of celebration and one for which we've received amazing feedback. We're sure that there were some rather sensitive heads on Friday but are sure that it was very much worth it!

As always, we’d like to thank all our amazing sponsors and judges without whom this could not happen.
