This year, the Fisherman’s Retreat sponsored our black-tie dinner. Hosted at their remote restaurant surrounded by tranquil scenery, the evening was attended by all of our judges and sponsors. A delicious meal was served in the private function room which overlooks the Pennines and surrounding areas. We had the amazing magician Ian Lavin who entertained all of our guests with his marvelous magic tricks and UK Croupier provided the casino tables which were a big hit. This was a great way to kick start the celebrations of the MIBBA’s and our way of thanking all of our judges and sponsors who we couldn’t do this without.

Not only were the Fisherman’s Retreat one of our amazing sponsors they were also the winner of the Best in Class Food & Drink Award which they previously won in 2018. In addition, they came highly commended in The Car Benefit Solutions Family Business Award and, to top that, the owner of the Fisherman’s Retreat, Hervey Magnall, also scooped up The Milliken Businessman of the year award. What an outstanding evening for all of the team.

The Fisherman’s Retreat situated in the picturesque Twine Valley, opened its doors in 1992 and 25 years later is still going from strength to strength as a family business. What started off as a trout fishery, has now evolved into a multi-award winning business comprised of a restaurant, bar, wedding venue and soon to be hotel. Their produce is sourced locally and freshly prepared on-site with the aim of delivering high-quality food for their customers. The Fisherman’s Retreat has a dedicated team of staff who are a huge contribution to the success of this thriving business.
